Oh well,
It was good while it lasted. I'll send away for a coffin when I move to St. Louis in a week. | | Wednesday, August 22nd, 2007 | | 12:54 am |
Bioshock
is the finest game I've played since...honestly, it may well be the first time I've played a game (that wasn't already considered a classic) and been this blown away by it. I am simply astounded by the quality at work here. If you have a system (360 or PC) that can run it, and you even sorta like FPS games, you owe it to yourself to buy this game. I am going to bed only because I feel I have to. Rapture Beckons. | | Sunday, August 5th, 2007 | | 12:40 am |
An Observation
People who pay $400 for a console and then proceed to play Catan on a saturday night are, by self-selection, of a certain disposition. In Gears, after getting shotgunned to the face, a long series of slurs was emitted, followed by about 5 minutes of trash talk. In Catan, after the 2nd monopoly was played by the same person, one of the other players said "I'm going to hunt you down and...I dunno, give you a stern talking to." I also finally got to actually say "I've got wood for sheep" in game. | | Tuesday, July 17th, 2007 | | 10:50 pm |
I love the internets
The last Harry Potter book leaks, and what happens? Someone TAKES A PICTURE OF EVERY DAMNED PAGE and puts it on torrent sites and bayimg. Jesus, I love the internet sometimes. Also, god dammit, I just made two posts in a row about Harry Potter and I don't read the books, I'm going to kill myself now. | | Thursday, June 21st, 2007 | | 11:25 am |
I know what should happen in the new Harry Potter book
-Ron is Kaiser Souze -Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans is PEOPLE. -Harry Potter was dead all along. -The dude who got whacked in Goblet of Fire is actually Voldemort. -Neville is Harry Potter. -We find out that the narrator is quite insane, leading many to question if the events of the book actually happened or were all in her head ( :v: ) -The last scene is everyone eating in a diner together with Journey's "Don't Stop Believin'" playing on the jukebox, and then the last 10 pages are blank (I'll be actually sorta surprised if anyone gets this.) | | Thursday, June 7th, 2007 | | 8:10 am |
Cicada Summer
We have cicadas here. Everyone who may read this is farther south than I, and I don't know how far down they go. At any rate, they're really really stupid. I was parked in a lot, just finding something to play on my iPod, and a cicada just lazily flew and slammed itself into my car door. Not my window. The door. I heard a little "thump", looked down, and there it was, laying on its back so it couldn't flip over. Stupid, stupid bugs. In regards to comments: I bought a 360 (and immediately downloaded catan, yaaaay $400 purchase for a board game) and no, I make no promises about updating this more. | | Saturday, June 2nd, 2007 | | 6:35 pm |

The Funny
I've decided that I'm not making enough of my mac. I opened up iPhoto and started doing things, and I came across these two photos that I took recently at my job. Who knew that that would fit into two boxes? I swear to god, I found this in the tunnels under my school. I know it's probably fine, but it's still sorta jarring. Okay, I know this isn't funny, but I like it too much to not share. The sporadic lighting, the exposed concrete and the darkness, all combined with a slight blurriness and graininess; it's all very Silent Hill. It's actually pretty damn creepy down there. | | Monday, June 12th, 2006 | | 10:04 am |
The Horror of Katamari Damacy
Animals, people, homes, islands - yes, all are crushed together by your deadly sphere of gravity. But the worst part? They become planets - or, worse, stars. You are torn from your daily routine, your life, your planet and - if you're unlucky enough to survive the near-constant deluge of larger and larger debris weighing down on you - then you are incinerated in the heart of a newborn sun. At least, however, you are not alive to hear the confusing words of a deranged god-being who says that the new star - the mass of fusion you and everyone you ever loved gave their lives to become - is pathetic. It's really quite a chilling thought. Thanks to Fuego Fish on the SA forums. | | Monday, May 8th, 2006 | | 7:32 am |
The All-Nighter
I just pulled my first ever all nighter here at Truman. I ask honestly - is there anything so pure as simply staying up all night to get your shit done? I drank two bawls to get me through the night, and I'm pretty sure what I've ended up with is of decent quality. I'm sitting here in my hoodie relaxing, listening to Even Rats (is there are reason you havn't downloaded this song yet?) and generally feeling very mellow for the next week. Here's hoping I can keep this attitude throughout. "Ahh, the soothing sounds of The Slip. Accessible Boston rock. What's not to love?" Current Mood: mellow | | Friday, April 28th, 2006 | | 12:32 pm |

You're all coming to see me tonight
I've got a public debate tonight, at 8 PM, in the Baldwin Little Theatre. You should all come. The topic is Resolved: The UN should expand its security council membership. I'll be opposing. Come on, I know no one has anything better to do tonight than to see me talk in a suit. :D | | Sunday, October 9th, 2005 | | 9:00 pm |
Something Awful is the best thing on the internet
I had a bitch of a matrix algebra assignment to do tonight. I went on SA and found a guy who is taking graduate level courses, who posted saying he's willing to help anyone with their Math shit. I IMmed the guy, and he helped me. FOR 2 HOURS. This stranger, on the internet, just spent 2 hours helping a stranger with his Matrix Algebra homework. Just because of the phrase, "I'm a goon." Screw anyone who thinks that this isn't something seriously special. Current Mood: cheerful | | Thursday, October 6th, 2005 | | 1:43 pm |
I waste Scuff's time
Apparently, I have to do this, or else Scuff will do something productive. This does not sit well Add a comment, and I reserve the right to: 1. I'll respond with something random about you. 2. I'll tell you what song/movie reminds me of you. 3. I'll pick a flavor of jello to wrestle with you in. 4. I'll say something that only makes sense to you and me. 5. I'll tell you my first/clearest memory of you. 6. I'll tell you what animal you remind me of. 7. I'll ask you something that I've always wondered about you. | | 1:28 pm |
Still a corporate whore
Blingo is like google, only there's a few more graphics, and you might win stuff when you search. It's also free. There's really no good reason not to use Blingo instead of Google (Blingo's search is powered by Google.) Sign up through my referral link - I don't automatically get any bonuses, but if you win something, so do I! http://www.blingo.com/friends?ref=wZ5ugAp4dQ-rbFKm2NpCAX1M0rwLink came from SA, and about 5 goons have won (with friends,) so it all seems to be very legit. | | 10:53 am |
This one's for Josh
Well, it's actually for everyone, but mostly, I just think it's funny when a PR guy screws up this badly. On a British radio show, they were talking about toys which would be big for this holiday season. They mentioned Nintendogs, and how you could teach it to sit, stay, beg etc. The problem was when they quoted Rob Saunders, Nintendo's PR manager for the UK: "Taking gaming out of its traditional context of the sweaty teenager in the bedroom playing shoot-em-ups and racing games; we're looking to offer something very very different, something a bit more sociable, a bit more fun, something you can share with your friends really in the playground." From this, we can infer that Nintendo believes that: - adults don't play games, - gamers have hygiene problems, - gamers are antisocial and only they make game that - Support more than one player - are fun. Stolen shamelessly from a GBS poster. Join the forums, damn you all! |
